Sweet Delilah Farm Dye Pot Day with Made of Madder and Sauvie’s Shrubs

Want to give natural dyes a try but don’t have the time to commit to a full workshop? Going to pick fruit but also want to enjoy a crafty stop? Drop into Sweet Delilah Farm on August 25 and enjoy the beauty of the farm in full bloom while you dip a bandana into one of our flower farm dye pots. A special bonus, sip on a tasty shrub drink from Sauvie Shrubs while your bandana is soaking up the flower magic of the dye pots. 

We will have prepped bandanas available for dyeing, cotton ($15) and silk ($30) do one or two or three! While supplies last.

Join us for our annual Lavender Upick event! Bring friends and kiddos, but please leave for your pups at home ( we love them but they’re not great at staying out of the flower rows) Bring clippers if you have them, we’ll have some spares on the farm too.

We’ll open up our lavender rows for cutting, you’ll get to choose from the 3 most luscious and best selling lavender in town, all organically grown.

If the mulberries are ripe there will be Upick Mulberries as well

Join us for a special sunset lavender Upick

There will be two varieties available, Melissa which is our pale pink/white variety (she’s so special) and Folgate which is our bright periwinkle lavender. We can’t wait to open the lavender field this season, grab a friend, your clippers (we’ll have extras) and your ticket here

We are opening our flower fields for a UPICK event. Come walk along rows of flowers, cut your own, bring your coffee or tea, and enjoy the beauty of Sauvie Island and the farm.

Learn dahlia 101 with us! You will learn how to divide, store, and care for your dahlias in this hands on workshop. We will go over planting methods, pest and disease trouble shooting, and harvesting info. Each participant will get 5 of our specialty dahlia tubers for your own garden.

You'll get hands on experience digging and dividing tubers and get a deep dive in to what it takes to grow dahlias successfully.

Come learn how to divide, plant, and care for your dahlias in this hands on workshop. Each participant will go home with 5 of our specialty dahlia tubers

Whether it’s a misty, moody PNW day or a bright sunny afternoon, capture the energy of the Sauvie Island en plein air in this watercolor workshop with Carly Larsson. Carly’s teaching style is rooted in experiential learning with an emphasis loosening up and painting from a place of playful joy. We will discuss the basics of on-location painting materials, planning compositions using thumbnail sketches, creating depth and dimension in your paintings, and changing the mood of your piece using color, shape, line, mark and texture. Students will take home original watercolor paintings of Sauvie Island and the many flowering plants found at Sweet Delilah Flower Farm.

It's that time of the year when the lavender is blooming and the farm looks and smells incredible. This season we're offering a few Lavender U Pick Days on the farm. Come enjoy a relaxing experience in our lavender field and pick your own lavender bunches. 

In order to work with the Covid 19 guidelines and handle the incredible interest in this event, we will be offering limited U Pick days and hours and are requesting guests to wear masks and be mindful of social distancing while on the property. We will be letting small groups of folx in to the farm at a time so expect to stand in a line on the busy U Pick days. 

The U Pick will be held rain or shine.

U-Pick Details:
Lavender is $12 per bunch - Cash and Venmo Preferred! Credit or Debit cards also accepted.

We will supply a rubber band and you can expect to fit 20-30 stems inside.

No Public Restroom Available

We will have a few clippers to loan, but please bring your own if possible in case all our loaners are in use.

Come learn the basics of growing your own cut flower garden with Chelsea of Sweet Delilah Farm (@sweetdelilah). In this class we will discuss some of the cut flower workhorses, how to choose which flower varieties might be best for your skill level, what blooms when, and basic post-harvest care. We will also discuss basic growing skills including which blooms need support or other special tending.
